Yesterday Jerry and I went down to Gredia Park to start picking up rubbish. There is so much of it. We are going back today at 4pm, along with some the children of Botongon.
Sadly the sea behind the Botongon Elementary School and the Gredia Children’s Park (Estancia, Philippines) is a dumping ground.
Two weeks ago I began conducting free creative activities for the kids living in Purok 4, Barangay Botongon, Estancia. I was so shocked when the caretaker of the children’s park showed me the terrible mess in the sea. I knew immediately I had to clean it up.
The purpose of this post is not to condemn only to encourage and inspire the people of Botongon to be more mindful of their basura (garbage), protect the ocean which provides so many of them an income and restore Botongon it’s natural beauty.
BOTONGON CAN BE BEAUTIFUL.
