Wandering the busy roadside, I’d escaped the monsoon rains and found a little piece of solitude for the first time in days and days and days. A few uninteruppted moments where I could take some photos for the blog and remember who I was.

These tall flowered grasses hold the afternoon sun’s light in a way that has delighted me since the day I first saw them here in the Philippines. It was my little quest accomplished to finally stand close instead of just gazing wishfully at them through the window of a bus.

There is something about the way they move into the wind that holds me every time.
