Just Sand

Here I am ‘home’. And
my passport, driver’s licence
and cards all agree. And

so I wander the
lonely beaches here every
day looking for new

poems and pictures
to discover, and hide from
everything like

Christmas or old friends
or the fact that my heart is
breaking because you

are my home now and
these beautiful magical
beaches are just sand.

Jerry is in the Philippines while I am here in Australia working and earning money. Missing him so much. This is a photo from his Christmas Party, sent to me by the parents of his classmate. I fly back to the Philippines on January 18th. Every day I’m going out to that beach and as many beautiful places as I can, but all I want to see is one little boy.
