ten little soldiers
standing on the ground
holding up their weapons
feeling very proud

ten little soldiers
fighting for their state
fighting for their brothers
fighting for their mates

ten little soldiers
lying brother against brother
different coloured states
who will tell their mothers?

  1. Clever, moving piece – to use the sing song, childlike form and pictures for such a serious message gives it extra power and poignancy I think. Great poem. xx

  2. Human race will never change. We will always have hate for another it is human nature in ourself that causes this. If man could only find the spiritual side of his life how much peace we all would have on this earth. But this truth to all nature. Even in our own family we have difference that causes bitterness between family members.

    1. I do like to think we are all capable of change and goodness and generosity. I suppose it is that hope that keeps me writing and believing I can change also.
