“was accidentally bumped to a coconut tree … due to slippery wet road”

you are dead
and i am dying
left behind
embittered
lying
static stationed
tombed abyss
lifeless life
reduced to this

you are dead
and i am lying
heart unlit
as you lay dying
wretched anger’s
silent hiss
twisted wreck
it’s all there is

I started writing this poem more than a year ago and as soon as I read this morning’s prompt ‘bitter’ I knew how to finish it. The anger is gone but my heart is still broken.
