I’ve just finished re-reading ‘The Day of the Triffids’, Melinda, but I think from your flowers, it would need to be renamed ‘The Day of the Fritillaries’ 🙂
haha I was thumbing through an old scribble book of mine and came across these mop-headed some-or-others and thought i might sneak triffids into the poem because it’s such a cool word. i read day of the triffids years ago and it is a favourite, i feel all inspired to read it again. i’m going to goole Fritillaries. thanks for stopping by. mel.
I’m re-reading all of the John Wyndham books at the moment, I’d forgotten what a good writer he was. Hopefully you can now see what I mean about your mop headed flowers looking just like fritillaries 🙂
i just check out the fritillaries and wow, so beautiful. my desktop image search is filled with these amazing mottles, pinkish flowers. i don’t think i’ve ever seen them before. thanks. m.
Glad you like them Melinda 🙂
