Jerry has a lovely surprise this morning before class.
When he went to sleep last night he had no idea that Tita Em and I would be getting up way before dawn to cook him a birthday party breakfast.
And when the kids arrived to get their school lunches, they were greeted with birthday cake and a little party. Music. Candles. Plenty to eat. It was completely lovely and the kids took all the left overs in their lunch boxes instead of the normal fare of fish and vegetables. Also Jerry’s brother Ryan (who takes him to school every morning) came a little earlier today to eat breakfast with his baby brother.
And Jerry couldn’t have cared less about it all, the only thing that really mattered was his best friend (Rolando) who he hadn’t seen for months. Rolando’s mother brought him here at 5.45am this morning to see Jerry.
And isn’t is true? For what good are birthday parties if you don’t have a best friend to share them with?
Here’s to best friends everywhere. We love you with all our hearts.
Mel xx
PS: Oh and I almost forgot, he refused to go to school without a plate of party food for his beloved teacher.
