I saw myself
at the bottom
of a pink camellia bush
stretched out
and flailing
as my younger self
(a perky pink bud)
looked away
in disdain
how could she
know? that actually
she was looking at herself

Very cute! ^_^
I remember trying to look grownup in that top. It was a hand-me-down from my cousin and I had to tie it in a knot because it was way to big. 🙂
this is wonderful, melinda. what a metaphor
oh thank you, my cousin sent me this old photo of me she’d taken in the early 80s and then stumbling on this camellia bush in my other cousin’s garden yesterday morning and the 2 just synced. oh the things i would say to my younger self hahaha.
