I love the night culture of the Philippines and how the twilight turns headlights into the moon. After the hot sun sinks and before the moon rises, the streets are teeming with the BBQ smoke of street vendors and their customers.

PS: “Moon Creatures‘ is the title of Chapter 9 in Poetry in the Making by Ted Hughes. The chapter is a selection (and discussion) of speculative poems about the moon. I thought it sounded edgy and surreal, so I apprehended it for my little poem here.
