Allowing yourself to write sloppy sentences, or draw an imperfect picture, or to keep playing a song with gusto when you miss a chord is great way to invite your timid, self-conscious creativity out into the open.
When you allow the raw, unedited stuff out (instead of condemning it to death with your authoritative inner critic) you begin a flow. And somewhere in that flow — where the current is rushing over the rocks and you’re so immersed in the moment that you’ve forgotten that you aren’t a writer — you’ll find the words, or the picture, or the music.
Sharing now something I allowed myself call a drawing, and hoping it will inspire you to let your writing flow today.

Also acknowledging the Mindful Journaling course over at Write Your Journey where I received permission to draw this imperfect mandala.
