Customised Cross Stitch Patterns with Photo Retouching

Some photos look perfect as they are — others need a quick polish before becoming a beautiful cross stitch pattern. If your image could use a cleaner background, better lighting, or some skin touch-ups, my custom cross stitch pattern service includes professional photo editing before charting your pattern.

This service is also great for photographs of your paintings or hand drawings that need a cleanup before converting to cross stitch.

Your finished package will be delivered within 1–3 days and includes a high-quality cross stitch pattern — printable, digital, and fully compatible with Pattern Keeper. I’ll also send back your original photo, now with professional edits and enhancements.

How it works

Once payment is confirmed, I’ll email you with everything we need to start:

1. Send a single image (preferably high-resolution) and tell me exactly what to fix (e.g., remove the photobomber under the tree, tidy pimples near the forehead, lighten shadows).
2. I’ll edit the photo and send a proof for your approval.
3. Once you approve, specify your cross stitch project size, Aida/fabric thread count, and level of detail.
4. I’ll generate several chart previews in different sizes for you to review.
5. Choose your favourite and I’ll finalise the pattern and deliver the files within three (3) business days.

Photo editing and retouching inclusions

All image editing is completed before charting and may include:

• Background removal
• Cropping
• Removal of unwanted objects or distractions
• Lighting and colour corrections
• Skin tone adjustment and red-eye removal
• Smoothing of small blemishes (e.g. acne, scars, stains, stray hairs)
• Cleaning up hand drawings (erasing smudges, pencil marks, or construction lines)

What you receive

You’ll receive a downloadable .zip file containing:

• The edited/retouched photo
• High-resolution project preview
• Chart with coloured symbols (single A4 page)
• Chart with black & white symbols (multi-page)
• Chart with coloured symbols (multi-page)
• Chart map
• Thread key with size stats and buying guide
• Printable floss labels for bobbins or thread organiser
• Pattern Keeper version of the chart

What’s NOT Included

This service doesn’t include combining or editing multiple photos, adding new elements or backgrounds, or inserting text, graphics, or special effects. All edits are applied only to the single image you provide.
