Description
Peter Rabbit is Forgiven cross stitch pattern is a replica of a drawing from Beatrix Potter’s book about Benjamin Bunny. The scene occurs toward the end, when Peter has returned to the family home (after a mad adventure with his cousin Little Benjamin Bunny). Old Mrs Rabbit is very pleased to see her naughty son wearing his best blue coat and shoes.
In the words of Miss Potter:
“When Peter got home, his mother forgave him, because she was so glad to see that he had found his shoes and coat. Cotton-tail and Peter folded up the pocket-handkerchief, and old Mrs. Rabbit strung up the onions and hung them from the kitchen ceiling, with the bunches of herbs and the rabbit-tobacco.”
The Project
This beautiful cross stitch is a very manageable size. The finished piece measures 26.3cm x 31.8cm when stitched on 14-count Aida cloth, but you’ll only be completing 22,503 stitches. You’ll need 67 different DMC colours to recreate the little rabbit brothers folding the red hankie. The pattern works perfectly with Pattern Keeper App and there are NO backstitches.
Matching Charts
Peter Rabbit is Forgiven cross stitch is the last pattern in the four-set series that illustrates the story of Benjamin Bunny by Beatrix Potter. You’ll get to stitch Peter Rabbit and his cousin Little Benjamin Bunny as well as Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, Mr Benjamin Bunny Snr, Mrs Rabbit –and the vegetables from Mr McGregor’s garden (which play a leading role in the drama).
More Beatrix Potter?
I simply adored Beatrix Potter growing up and have been having so much fun charting her quirky animal characters into counted cross stitch patterns. Who are your favourites? I grew up with Timmy Tiptoes, the Flopsy Bunnies, and the two bad mice (Tom Thumb and Hunca Munca). To find your own favourites check my store category dedicated to Beatrix Potter cross stitch.
