Guest Purchase or Account?

Home » Support Desk » Guest Purchase or Account?

When buying cross stitch patterns, eBooks, or other digital products from my shop, you can choose to check out as a guest or create an account. Here’s a simple overview of the pros and cons of each option so you can decide what works best for you.

Guest Checkout

Guest checkout is quick and convenient. There’s no need to create a password or log in — you just enter your details, complete payment, and your download link will appear straight away on the order confirmation screen. You’ll also receive a confirmation email with a link to download your files.

That said, there are a few limitations.

If you check out as a guest and later lose your email or misplace the files, I may not be able to retrieve them — particularly if the product has been removed from the shop. While I do my best to help, I can’t guarantee long-term access to your digital purchases if you don’t create an account.

Creating an Account

Creating an account takes just a moment at checkout. Once set up, it gives you ongoing access to everything you’ve purchased. You can log in at any time and go to My Account > Downloads to re-download your patterns or other files whenever you need them.

This is the most reliable way to keep a secure and permanent record of your orders.

My website is hosted on a secure, encrypted server, and I take your privacy seriously. Your purchase history and files are stored safely and are not accessible to third parties.

Which Option Should You Choose?

If you’re making a one-off purchase and you’re confident you’ll keep your confirmation email somewhere safe, guest checkout may be fine. But if you plan on returning to the shop, or want peace of mind that you’ll always be able to access your files — even years later — I recommend creating an account.

It’s also worth considering if you’d like access to exclusive offers, tutorials, or special events in future. Having an account makes everything easier to manage and puts you in control of your downloads.
