Description
Jemima Puddle-duck cross stitch pattern was inspired by the front cover of Beatrix Potter’s famous book. Clueless Jemima has met a very civil (and very handsome) gentleman while wandering the wood. She agrees to lay her precious batch of eggs in his garden shed and is not even slightly suspicious of the vast quantity of feathers (or her host’s sharp teeth and red bushy tail).
It’s a fabulous tale and (I think) equally fun stitching Jemima and her calculating companion ambling along the wooded pathway.
The Project
This cross stitch project is semi full-coverage, as I have cut away the edges so it looks like the paintings from the original storybook. The finished piece measures 25.4cm x 30.5 cm when stitched on 14-count Aida cloth, but you’ll only be completing 22,196 stitches. You’ll need 90 different DMC colours to recreate Jemima Puddleduck and Mr Tod.
For Pattern Keeper fans I have included an extra PK chart in your download pack. I personally love the Pattern Keeper app and use it all the time.
More Beatrix Potter?
I absolutely loved Beatrix Potter when I was growing, especially the Flopsy Bunnies, and the two bad mice (Tom Thumb and Hunca Munca). Who are your favourites? I’ve got lots more BP cross stitch in the store so take a look around before you sign off today.
