The Kiss Cross Stitch Pattern features a trendy Parisian couple embracing at the front door. It’s a replica of an 1885 painting by French artist Auguste Toulmouche and features
The Project
This is a large, full coverage project that measures 54.4cm x 80.6cm when stitched on 14-count Aida cloth (300 x 444 grid area). The project requires 137 different DMC colours and has 133,200 cross stitches.
It’s quite a tricky piece because I’ve used a lot of confetti to replicate the fine detail of the woman’s peach-pink gown, the brightly lit chandelier, and the warm orange glow from the hallway lighting that illuminates the couple’s affectionate reunion. If you’re up for the challenge I think you’ll be delighted with the finished work.
PLEASE NOTE: I recommend using the Pattern Keeper App to manage this complex project, so I have included an extra chart in your download pack that has been specially formatted for PK.
The Artist
Auguste Toulmouche was a French realist painter who lived between 1829 and 1890. He was famous for his paintings of fashionable dressed women in brightly coloured scenes. If you love the French bustle and cross stitching shimmering textures, there are plenty more cross stitch patterns in the store inspired by the artworks of Auguste Toulmouche.
