Description
Vanity Cross Stitch Pattern features a young society maiden adorned in the exquisite fashions of 19th century Paris. It’s a replica of an 1890 painting by French artist Auguste Toulmouche.
The Project
This is a very large, full coverage project that measures 63.5cm x 98.7 cm (350 x 544 grid area) when stitched on 14-count Aida cloth. You’ll need 189 different DMC colours and will complete 190,400 stitches.
I won’t kid you, it’s a challenging project because I’ve included a lot of confetti to replicate the fine detail of the woman’s pink bustled gown, the fashionable floral arrangement, and the intricate details of the luxury gold furniture. That said, the finished piece looks simply amazing. Consider carefully before purchasing.
PLEASE NOTE: I have included an extra chart in your download pack that has been specially formatted for the Pattern Keeper App. I recommend using PK to manage large, full coverage cross stitch projects.
The Artist
Auguste Toulmouche was a French realist painter who lived between 1829 and 1890. He was famous for his paintings of fashionable dressed women in richly decorated domestic scenes. If you love French fashions of the Victorian era and cross stitching shimmering silks and satin, I have lots more cross stitch patterns in the store inspired by the artworks of Auguste Toulmouche.
