One thing that delights me about the Philippines is it’s dedication to repurposing, recycling and reusing everything. Filipinos are the most industrious people I have met when it comes to knocking something useful together at a pinch and for a penny. I only had to walk out my front door to grab a few snaps of the neighbourhood (including the school) re-purposing.
And while it sounds very nice to be delighted about dedicated recycling, it is also worth mentioning that almost 27 million Filipinos live on less than USD$235 per month and this level of poverty no doubt contributed to the photos below.

Haha Estancia is famous for its “daing”. I hated it when I first came to the Philippines but my adopted son loves it so much so I cook it quite a lot. I’m starting to like it now too. 🙂
