Description
Regatta cross stitch pattern is a sophisticated yachting scene, inspired by a design I found in a vintage pattern book (circa. 1900). I love how just a few simple lines and 5 DMC colours can create the image of yachts sailing across a windy bay.
The Project
This is a cutaway project that measures 9.1cm x 12.2cm when completed on 14-count Aida cloth (50 x 67 grid area). I’ve charted the design using 5 x gorgeous aquamarine tones (DMC thread) but you could easily swap these for antique blue, turquoise, or pewter. The project has 1,711 cross stitches.
Even though this is a very easy cross stitch, your download pack includes an extra chart that works seamlessly in the Pattern Keeper App. PK is a great way to manage your cross stitch projects.
Stitch the Set
If you love Regatta cross stitch pattern, why not stitch the whole set of six charts? I’ve used complimentary colours and matching symbols.
