A study in blue

blue is the colour of oceans
of boats, both broken and new
it’s the colour of sky in the daylight
and also gives twilight its hue.

blue brings relief from the heat
colouring the afternoon rain
pouring sweet blue on my shoulders
and a day filled with colours again.
